This is a great tap: the design is elegant and it is a delight to use. The levers literally glide from closed to open. It is quite heavy and does shake a little on a standard stainless steel sink, even with the plastic plate fitted underneath, but that is a very small price to pay for such a nice fitting. I bought the suggested grohe compression adaptors to allow me to connect this tap to 15mm copper pipe. After a bit of work (and a change of olive in one case) they did the job.
Great tap but need 3/8in – 15mm convertor and monoblock spanner. On the positive side these are superbly well-made taps – silky smooth control – from the tiniest drip (my cats like that) through to full flow – very controllable with the lightest touch – also controllable with your wrist or elbow if you’ve got mucky hands. Also the leaf to right swivel is like silk – you can more the tap with the lightest touch of your little finger. I like the design of the swivel – they supply some grease – you lubricate and fit the spout into the base – so the spout sort of moves independently of the base – my previous tap (also a grohe – lasted 10 years or so – was a bad design because the swivel bit sort of connected to the base and got loose underneath the sink now and then you had to fiddle about mending it – this is a much better design). However, this is german and charmingly german plumbers still use ‘imperial’ measurements – the tap tails connect to 3/8in – so you need to get item no. B01ejy5p8y – this will convert the tap tail to 15mm and make your diy life a lot easier. You will also need plumber’s tape and use the original washers that come with the tap. After that you can just use standard push-fit 15mm kit. Definitely get the 3/8in – 15mm convertor – about a fiver – you can do this with straight reducers – i tried that first time around – a nightmare. You also need a monoblock spanner to tighten the tap onto your sink – try b0015nstu4 – however, now all done the tap is lovely – real quality – but you need to get the convertor and spanner.
Wrong side hot and cold taps. Beautiful tap with lovely smooth action but we had the size connection problem that others have had, plus the hot / cold water connections are on the wrong sides and have to be plumbed in that way. Not the end of the world and i’m sure we’ll get used to it but it’s certainly not what i expected of this make and at this price.

Comments from buyers
“Quality issues as per other reviewers – Update: . but Grohe were quick to come out and fix, Tap is really nice quality with a smooth action when operated, Nearly there, one flaw.”
Compared to the old tap it replaced and some of the cheaper models tested at diy stores, the quality really shines through. Install was easy enough, but buy the connectors that amazon show as ‘often purchased with’. You will need them to connect to 15mm copper pipe and they are not easy to get elsewhere.
Very impressive kitchen tab , very elegant in the kitchen, quick delivery ,i like it.
Flex leads 18 inch long and mine needed need 15mm to 12mm coupling (srewfix 88346 *2) as flex pipes are about 10 mm wide bore.
