GROHE 30058000 Duo Kitchen Mixer and Single-Boiler : A welcome addition to any kitchen

Very satisfactory, except that ithe tap is sztiff to pull out and turn.

We love our tap, so convenient. It does however use a lot of space below the sink.

Recommend only at discounted price. Better for coffee than tea as it’s not hot enough for my wife sometimes. Would certainly not pay full price. Flow rate is a bottle on the slow side send it slightly airates the water, which is fine for black coffee, but not tea.

“A quality system, giving instant near boiling water whenever needed., Worth every penny!, NIce product but read the “gotchas””

Fantastic replacement to a kettle. I am very impressed with this tap, it has now replaced the need for a kettle. There were parts missing from the various packages this tap comes in, which were only picked up when my plumber came to fit the tap. This cost me an additional callout and extra cost to replace the parts. However, i did bring this to the attention of amazon and i have to say there after sales service was exemplary. All in all, i highly recommend this product.

I love my new hot water tap. I love my new hot water tap, more space on the counter, quick and easy boiling water for my cup of tea. The tap is a beautiful piece in the kitchen.

Buy this and change your life for the better (as long as you can sacrifice cupboard space the under sink). Received this excellent instant hot water tap kit at a fantastic price via amazon over a year ago. I am not affiliated with grohe or amazon. My work includes overseeing maintenance a variety of many buildings, as well as directly managing a handy man and assistant. The item was purchased as part of a complete kitchen replacement in my own home. I sourced kitchen units, worktops, glass splash backs and appliances from a variety of online outlets. In my opinion this instant boiling water tap appeared to be the best value for money available at the time. Arrived from germany with pressure reducing vessel, filter, combination boiling water and hot cold mixer tap and all (intermediate) connecting pipework. Despite our builder losing the instructions when unboxing, and initially connecting incorrectly, i eventually found the installation instructions online and talked the second plumber through the install using a combination of showing him the online instructions and mime (note to self – next time use a plumber who can read and speak english fluently). It would have been quicker and easier to do the job myself.

  1. A quality system, giving instant near boiling water whenever needed. . I bought this in february 2017 and held off reviewing until now to allow a while to fully evaluate it. Firstly, i agree with others comments about watching the price, i paid £373. 33 which was a bargain as far as i was concerned, as i’d seen it on the grohe website for nearly £2k inc vat. I have previous experience of grohe kit, so had no hesitation about the quality which has always been excellent. Living in the south east in a ‘water stressed’ area, we were compulsorily put on a water meter in january, and i was shocked by how much more this cost me when the first bill arrived. I need to do something about it, and one factor i was aware of was the long distance from the boiler to our kitchen, meaning we have to run off a lot of water to get hot to run through – and so now thats literally running money down the sink. Buying the grohe kit was my attempt to address this and have instant hot water, and i’ve not been disappointed. I installed the kit myself and it took me around 3 hours. I’m not a plumber, but i have done plumbing jobs before and the installation instructions were straightforward.

We bought this, after extensive research, for our brand new kitchen. Probably as much on aesthetics as anything as it looks just right. I was very lucky as i managed to get it for less than £447. If you’re thinking of buying, keep an eye on the price for a few days as it seemed to fluctuate a lot (£447 – over £600 within days). I didn’t install it, but have used it for six months now. And have just bought a kettle. We decided we couldn’t stand drinking tasteless, tepid, frothy tea any longer. It’s handy for filling saucepans and great to have boiling water on tap, but when it comes to making tea, it simply doesn’t cut it for us. And the filter didn’t last long at all. I’ve simply not replaced it as i’m not sure what the benefit of it is (we have cold, filtered water from the fridge anyway). So now i simply fill our new old fashioned copper kettle from the boiling water tap, boil it on the induction hob (less than 30 seconds) and have perfect tea.

Very disappointing flow rate. Generally this product does what it says however there is one significant drawback. Because the boiling water flow goes through the same outlet as the standard hot & cold water – the flow valve (which is designed to ensure that boiling water comes out of the tap at a restricted low pressure) also restricts the flow of the standard hot & cold water flows. This leads to frustratingly slow fill times for the sink. This is a feature which becomes ever more frustrating as time goes on to the point where i am now considering ditching this tap for a standard hot & cold flow tap such as the franke eiger.

Pure luxury and convenience. Having done lots of research, i opted for this product as being the best compromise for quality / cost and i am not disappointed. The tap is extremely good quality before you start, including all the other components you require to deliver the boiling water so conveniently. Firstly, unless you are a very competent diy’er, you will need it to be installed by a professional. It look up quite a bit of space in my 500mm under sink cupboard but having taken a lot of time over placing the individual components and flexi pipes, there was still a bit of room for other bits and bobs. At the end of the day, this is a luxury item, however, if you think a tap of this quality would cost £200 or more, the overall cost was value for money in my opinion. As other reviewers have stated, the water is not as hot as ‘straight from the kettle’. Whilst we drink our hot drinks a little quicker, we are not finding this an issue as it is boiling and does make a great cuppa.

      1. Do i spend £40 on a new kettle of £600 on a boiling water tap?. I spent 7 years thinking about this and used 3 kettles. Having this tap makes life so much easier in the kitchen. Hot drinks when you want them and no hanging around waiting for the kettle to boil. I recently stayed in a hotel and found the noise of a kettle really annoying so i have absolutely no regrets about buying this tap. Fitting took me about 3 hours start to finish and was relatively easy although the space it had to go in to was small.

    1. One side is the cold and hot and one/off, and then the other side is dedicated to the boiling water tap which is a bit stiffer and has a special way of switching on so as to prevent accidents. The kit does take up a fair bit of space in a standard 600mm cabinet under the sink, but the ease of having boiling water on tap is paying dividends so farmy plumber managed to hook up the cold water feed to the filter which came with the unit as well so handy for drinking.

    1. Be aware you need to get a half inch to 3/8 adapter for continental piping (not available at b+q – but was available though local plumbing supplier). Otherwise straight forward to fit. 3 pin plug so no electircal work. Works very well, tap doesn’t get overly hot when dispensing boiling water. Saves waiting for kettles to boil and the mrs.

Nice product but read the “gotchas”. A well made product, if not a little pricey. A an engineer, i have a problem with the principle of leaving a kettle boiling constantly just ot extract a cup of water once every few hours – but that aside, this is pretty well made and does what it is meant to do in quite a decent & classy looking package. A couple of gotchas though you need to be aware of:1. It doesn’t deliver hot water at 99. 9c as it says on the box – using a thermal tester, it averages around 91c and the hottest we have had it is at 92. Still ok for a decent cup of tea, but it’s not “near boiling” as is advertised;2. The hot water comes out “frothy”. Soyou get frothy bubbles on top of your cup of.

    1. Use it all day long for tea, coffee, cleaning, and cooking. Boiled water had a weird taste for the first couple months but is now better. Happy to have filtered water coming through the tap as well.

Looks good and operates silently. Looks good and operates silently. Water is quite effervescent as it comes out but this settles within a minute or so. Is certainly hot enough for tee/coffee making though you do have to run it for a few seconds to clear the cool water in the pipes first. Filter doesn’t last long and is ludicrously expensive, which is a real shame.

Excellent (almost) boiling water tap. I am not a boiling water tap expert, but i did a little bit of research before deciding this grohe tap was the right balance of price and quality that i was looking for. There seems to be quite a range of boiling water taps available, from insinkerator taps starting at around £200 and lasting a couple of years before they start to leak (based on my research) to the quooker tap that was really going to be over £1k. The grohe seemed like it somewhere in the middle on price, and hopefully towards the top end on quality. We’ve had it for nearly a month now and it has been great. Making tea is very fast, though the water isn’t quite kettle hot so you may find you drink the tea sooner than if you’d made it using a kettle. It is great for cooking too. Need to top up the water for veg or rice?. No problem, it’s done in an instant. Can’t comment on whether electricity usage has gone up or down though.
