The tap looks the part and the concept is great and looks a lot better than similar items on. The tap looks the part and the concept is great and looks a lot better than similar items on the market. The main disadvantage for me is the rubbery taste from the water that flows from the tap. I’m hoping this will disappear with time. Meantime i am having to fill the kettle from the fridge water dispenser.

Why we like it: – solid stainless steel with beautiful chrome. I got this gainwell branded single lever tap as my parents were fitting new kitchen units etc in a property due to the old one having been vandalized by the tennants. Why we like it:- firstly its solid stainless steel with beautiful chrome finish which is very attractive and modern- it is a single lever design giving you control of temp and flow of water with one motion and can be used with one hand- extendable spray head with 12 inch hose for filling containers etc when they won’t necessarily fit in the sink, and handy for manouvering when rinsing and also for cleaning around the sink- brass body which is durable and long lasting- meets en817 standards- 5 year guarantee- very reassuring- easy installationit was a huge bonus that its so easy to fit, as no need for extra costs hiring a plumber, and comes with everything included and complete manual and cover plate. Usually when you buy a tap there are lots of extras you need to get, and it’s a bit of faffing around to find the correct parts but this is a complete set. The tap looks very modern and expensive and is extremely functional and practiacl and we really love it. We’ve been using it a few months and have had absolutely no issues with build quality or faults and the water tastes really nice and pure. I will be getting another for my kitchen when i re-decorate it in a few months.
Great kitchen upgrade to go with a new high pressure hot water system. We recently switched to high pressure hot water and took out the tanks in the loft. Our old low pressure faucet was too wasteful with hot water. Having used high pressure faucets in the usa i was keen to have a ‘mixer tap’ again. Sure it takes a few seconds longer to fill the kettle but when you are doing dishes the water doesn’t splash outside the sink. This tap is almost perfect – my only complaint is its a bit wobbly at the base. However in use you don’t notice this so i would not score against it. I like to use large cutting boards and the pull out tap is awesome for washing them down. Even my wife says she uses the pull out feature more often that she expected. The install was easy – the hardest part was removing the old tap.
Elegant, easy to fit and incredible extension feature. The extendable nozzle is absolutely perfect for me. I have quite a small sink, and filling up the large bowl of dog water, filling up a bucket of water for cleaning or even filling a large pan or my 5l slow cooker can be a pain. This extends out and is flexible, so you don’t need to put your item in the sink to fill it which is really ideal for those with small sinks, or filling large items, or with multiple sinks even. I was a bit worried about fitting it, but my husband managed without any problems at all. He said the instructions were really clear (just remember to turn your mains water off before fitting). It only needs the one main central hole and comes with a baseplate for fitting as well but you don’t have to use it – i did because i was fitting to a worktop hole rather than a sink hole. The head swivels from side to side for flexibility, and it’s really easy to select hot/cold and pressure with a simple pull out lever. This would be ideal for anyone who has problems with turning taps, and is also more secure against leaks.
GAINWELL High Arch Kitchen Sink Tap with Pull Out Sprayer Solid Brass Chrome : Nice tap but does have some problems. This is a very nice looking tap, but after less than a year’s use the spray head has started to stick on one of the two positions. I have tried emailing the manufacturer but they are in china and there has been no reply. Therefore i am afraid the ‘5 year guarantee’ is worthless. I will try cleaning it thoroughly as someone has suggested.
